On a two-GPU laptop the browser usually gets the weak integrated chip. Give it the dedicated one:

Settings › System › Display › Graphics
Add desktop app (Windows 10: Browse): chrome.exe, msedge.exe or firefox.exe
Click it › Options › High performance › Save
Quit the browser completely and open it again

Plugged in, Power mode: Best performance. A maker's app (Armoury Crate, Vantage, MSI Center) in Eco or iGPU-only mode switches the dedicated GPU off.

NVIDIA (PRIME): start the browser with prime-run, or with __NV_PRIME_RENDER_OFFLOAD=1 __GLX_VENDOR_LIBRARY_NAME=nvidia
AMD or Intel hybrid: start it with DRI_PRIME=1

Settings › System › Use graphics acceleration when available: ON, then relaunch. Firefox: Settings › General › Performance.
Update the graphics driver. chrome://gpu shows what the browser is really using.
